The Bar
The Black youth of America are a group that can be described generally as one that has lost hope. Their ability to gain access to the economic and political power in the United States is severely limited. There are many reasons for this: poor education, disdain for "white people's" values, the legacy of poverty, the continuation of institutional racism and a justifiable distrust of police and the judicial system. America's Black youth are an endangered group. *** a capistic system that does not work for them ***
At the bar, they seek escape from a reality that seems to have no place for them. They come to the bar looking for respect, importance, and admiration from the opposite sex. In their desperation and quiet anger, they strike out at that which is closest, one another. And so, the downward spiral of their hope and expectations continue.
