Artist Statement
I am interested in European and borders issues, focusing on how individuals and
communities deal with past, traditions and collective memories, as well as the influence
those have on identities.
Mainly approaching my subject matters with empathy and a regard for intimacy, I see
my work as an almost anthropological immersion. My practice is concerned with the
notion of belonging: to a place or group; and of sharing: a passion, vision, goal or past.
Through photography I am questioning the bridges between the identity of the singular
and the collectivity, which I visualize by concentrating on the human relationships in
their context and with their contexts.
