Young artists, presently, have a fascination for the past. They collect, accumulate, appropriate ephemeral objects and discarded subjects from days long gone, or not so much. It is a psychological anthropology that will lead us through Walter Benjamin’s unfinished project, the Arcade Project. Contemporary culture is prolific in, fascinating ruins of resources that can be materialise in diverse mediums and phrases as a way to retrieve and reveal lost histories. It is in here that Délio Jasse works takes effect. This conversation/interview goes through some of the points that are raised by Délio’s work.
