Un cartel que no puede leerse. Un brillo. Un reflejo. Plantas. Y el camino, la calle. Caminar es recorrer distancias y espacios. Pero caminar mientras se mira es también recorrer escenarios, vivirlos, formar parte de ellos. La mirada de Iván ofrece el resultado de esa experiencia y elige mostrarnos lo que la sorprende: la extrañeza de lo cotidiano, la plasticidad visual de lo habitual. Iván observa su recorrido a la manera que se camina: tranquilo, con el ritmo que genera cada paso, ni despacio ni rápido, a tiempo.
En estas imágenes, el género “Street Photography” a través de los ojos Iván deja de lado la eventualidad de un acontecimiento para concentrarse en la reflexión sobre lo común, lo que transcurre sin sobresaltos.

A sign that cannot be read. A glow. A reflection. Plants. And the path, the street. To walk is to cover distances and spaces. But to walk while looking is also to walk through scenarios, to live them, to be part of them. Ivan's gaze offers the result of this experience and chooses to show us what surprises him: the strangeness of the everyday, the visual plasticity of the usual. Iván observes his route the way one walks: calmly, with the rhythm generated by each step, neither slow nor fast, on time.
In these images, the genre "Street Photography" through Iván's eyes leaves aside the eventuality of an event to concentrate on the reflection on the commonplace, on what happens without surprises.

La calle, mi taller
Caminar lo suficiente hasta separarme de mí, entrar en un plano de abstracción con el paisaje urbano, donde lo conocido se vuelve distante. Ahí, mi fotografía comienza a operar, encuentra en el blanco y negro esa emoción, en la aspereza de la materia, en la luz y los contrastes, en el orden y la geometría, en los destellos de belleza, todo se vuelve un regalo para quien sabe mirar.
A modo de reflexión a como vivimos, nos comunicamos y relacionamos. Apurados, desconectados, tan sintéticos, la pandemia fue el marco para mis fotografías, donde frenar y reflexionar se volvió la única opción. Romper con los círculos de lo cotidiano, poder escapar e ir al encuentro con uno mismo, en su estado más honesto y bruto.
Desde la simpleza, lo autentico, lo revelado del momento, solo miro al mundo como un descubridor, la manera en que nos vinculamos con él, sin pretender cambiarlo, aceptando sus rarezas y la fotografía como fiel testigo de todo lo caminado.

The street, my workshop
Walk far enough to separate from me. Enter a plane of abstraction with the urban landscape where the familiar becomes distant. There, my photography starts to operate, finds that emotion in black and white, in the roughness of matter, in light and contrasts, in order and geometry, in the flashes of beauty. Everything becomes a gift for those who know how to look
As a reflection on how we live, communicate and relate. In a hurry, disconnected, so synthetic, the pandemic was the frame for my photographs, where slowing down and reflecting became the only option. To break with the circles of the everyday, to be able to escape and go to the encounter with oneself, in its most honest and raw state.
From the simplicity, the authentic, the revealed of the moment, I only look at the world as a discoverer, the way in which we link with it, without trying to change it, accepting its oddities and photography as a faithful witness of everything we have walked.

Iván Komin, Morón, Buenos Aires. 1982
Estudió la Carrera de Fotografía en la escuela Motivarte y complementó su formación con la Carrera de Director de Arte en la Asociación Argentina de Agencias de Publicidad. También participó en el programa PAC para artistas y curadores, organizado por la Galería de Arte Gachi Prieto, así como en otros espacios de taller sobre creatividad y fotografía.
El año previo a la pandemia trabajó su obra con la Curadora Cecilia Medina, proyecto que luego seguiría desarrollando junto al fotógrafo Alberto Goldenstein, en un espacio de clínica.
En 2022 participó de una Residencia de Fotografía organizada por Salto Luz en Mar del Plata ( provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina) y en una muestra colectiva sobre fotografía contemporánea en el Museo Castagnino de esa ciudad.
Realizó su primera muestra individual en la Galería El Local de la ciudad de Buenos Aires
Actualmente reparte su tiempo entre su trabajo en el área de Cultura, del Municipio de Morón y la producción de fotografías urbanas.

He studied Photography at school Motivarte and complemented his studies with the Art Direction Career at the Argentinian Association of Advertising Agencies. He was also part of Pac program for artists and curators, organized by Gachi Prieto Art Gallery, as well as other workshops on Photography and Creativity.
The year before pandemic he worked on his photography with curator Cecilia Medina. He then continued working on this project in a workshop with Alberto Goldenstein. In 2022 he took part of a Photography residency organized by Salto Luz in Mar Del Plata ( Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina). He also participated in a collective exhibit on Contemporary Photography at Castagnino Museum, also in Mar del Plata.
He made his first Solo Exhibition at El Local Gallery in Buenos Aires
He currently divides his time between his work in the area of culture of Municipality of Moron and the production of urban photographs

Through image, text, sound and animation, VASA works to expand the exhibition paradigm and provide a rich experience for the viewer (as well as the author).
VASA Exhibitions provides a viewing and research environment by archiving all of the exhibitions in their entirety. For example, the viewer may view a 2009 exhibition as it was presented and not just traces of its existence.
