About This Exhibition
Surrounded, is the personal search and encounter , as a person newly arrived in a big city, of places and people that remind me of the ones I used to know, a refuge, a place to rest the eyes.
The project is an act of appropriation. First, through occupying these new spaces, then through the photographs I take. These images comprehend situations that are experienced by me daily as well as being the fruit of an spontaneous encounter. Through the images I reaffirm my existence, a persistent act of capturing, saving and freezing a moment in a city where everyday millions of people arrive and depart. In a city where it is very difficult to create bonds and intimacy is lost.
