Caterina Davinio | The First Poetry Space Shuttle Landing on Second Life
Statement
This video presents an exploration/performance in the virtual installation The First Poetry Space Shuttle Landing on Second Life, created by Caterina Davinio on Second Life in the context of the 53. Venice Biennial Collateral Events. The installation has the form of a stylized space shuttle containing virtual objects, links and poems. It was created for celebrating the Centenary of Italian Futurism, and, on the 40. anniversary of the first lunar landing (July 20-21 2009), there was a virtual landing of poets, who had form of spheres and colorful prisms, which, at the contact of the mouse, donated a poem file. The guest book of the shuttle "Welcome on Board" contains more than 300 poems by 231 authors from around the world.
