The Workshop: The
Art of Seeing and
the Rites of Holy
Week
The Sardinia photography
workshop will be an
opportunity for students
to experience the
Rites of Holy Week:
rituals, 
festivals,
and local events.
The workshop will
start with
an intensly focused
photography workshop,
The Art
of Seeing, with
Patrick Keough, designed
to enhance and expand
your your way of
seeing. Together
with the rituals
surrounding Holy
Week, the 7 day experience
promises to be an
rewarding and visual
experience.
The Art of Seeing
workshop will include
daily formal photography
instruction geared
specifically to
each photographer’s
skill level, in
addition to personal
time to meander
along the beautiful
countryside and
visit the local
villages. There
will also be excursions
to a majestic waterfall,
salt lakes with
flamingos, ancient
castles, a 3000
year old stone tower
and a Byzantine
church. A primary
focus of the workshop
will be photographing
the Easter celebrations,
rituals and choir
processions in and
around the villages
of Sardinia.
Most evenings after
local activiites there
will be a critique
session and discussion
about the day's activites.
Internet will be provided.
Students need to bring
their laptop, memory
stick, and plus adaptor
for Europe (if you
come from outside
Europe)

Workshop fee includes:
• 6 days of working with Patrick Keough on the Art of Seeing.
• Seven (7) nights at the da Paola e Giorgio Bed & Breakfast (semi-private room)
• Meals include: Breakfast, packed lunch, most dinners
• All transportation once you arrive
• Visit to the Museum of Photography in Villa Nova Monteleone
• Wine tasting at a regional Sardinia winerary
• Social event with the Photography Club of Oristano
• Rites of Holy Week in Riola and surrounding villages
Participants will
be limited to 10 to
build interaction
and discussion.
This
is a digital photography
workshop, no darkrooms
or film processing
will be made available.
The workshop is in
English, having some
Italian or Spanish
language skills will
be helpful
