Brendan Bannon is a Western New York photojournalist currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Bannon's recent work from Africa covers a variety of ongoing refugee crises in Kenya,Somalia, South Sudan, Yemen, Tanzania and Namibia.

His complex and compassionate view of these challenging situations reveals the complexity of life as it is being lived in camps in these countries. Bannon has taught photography in refugee camps.

He has also covered a variety of issues for newspapers such as The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, the Daily Telegraph and the Guardian and humanitarian organizations including Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF and Care International.
